A HUGE Holiday THANK YOU to Mrs. Jacqueline Curt for her years of service as an art teacher and her generous donations to Arkansas Arts Academy! Mrs. Jacqueline Curt has been a friend to AAA since she moved to Rogers 8 years ago. An accomplished fibers artist as well as retired public art teacher (30 years), Jacqueline has been an tremendous supporter of our school and has donated an abundance of art materials, supplies and equipment over the years. Because of her generosity we have had materials for arts integration projects, equipment for our K-12 art department and supplies for 3D/ fiber arts. Today she donated 3 lockable tool boxes, hardware, paint, tools, and canvas to the Tech Theatre department! In addition, she also donated a large amount of thread, yarn, beginning looms and weaving equimpment to the High School Fibers Club! I think she should change her name to Mrs. Claus... Sadly our "Mrs. Claus" will be moving in the spring to be closer to her family. While we are sad to lose such a generous and creative spirit, we thank you for all that you have shared with our school and teachers and appreciate your support and your service as an educator. Thank you Jacqueline! We will miss you! We are fortunate to have such strong support from the community. If you would like to donate to AAA contact foundation@artsk12.org or Aaron Jones ajones@artsk12.org

Tomorrow evening is ART on the BRICKS in Downtown Rogers! The theme for this month is "There is No Place Like Gnome" which was inspired by the recent work produced by the Ceramics Club at Arkansas Arts Academy High School. Students have been working on the Gnome series for over a month and they will be featured at Art on the Bricks tomorrow evening at the A3 Gallery (228 South 1st street, Rogers) between 4:30-7:30 pm. But WAIT, there's more! Not only will these cute, bearded, fantasy beings be on display... they will be for sale! Just in time for the Holiday Season! In addition to the Gnomes students also created Christmas Tree ornaments that will also be on sale. Come join us at Art on the Bricks and support our students! Look for two of the ceramic club students, Juliet Vega and Sophia Pappas, this evening on the News. They were interviewed today by local News Stations to promote AAA's contribution to Art on the Bricks. To learn more about Art on the Bricks visit https://artonthebricks.com/

In celebration of National Native American Heritage Month the 4th grade class visited the Museum of Native American History in Bentonville. Museum Director, Jazlyn Sanderson, welcomed the students and led them on an investigation to some of the artifacts on display in the galleries. During their visit to the Museum the students also engaged in a hand's on project where they learned about various types of maps created by First Nations then created a version inspired by the Plains tribal communities. The afternoon concluded with lunch on the grounds and the opportunity to dig for an arrowhead to take home. Thank you to the Museum Staff for hosting a wonderful experience!
