Board Member Succession, per School Board Handbook, page 12 - 13

AAA board members serve three year terms. They may resign their position at any time, allowing sufficient notice for a replacement to be nominated during the executive session. Board members in good standing can offer to serve another term, however a repeat term must be approved by the board.
