Mural Club at the Ledger

It’s beginning to look a lot like… a Winter Wonderland that only an AAA student could create!

That’s right, AAA high school students are painting a mural in Downtown Bentonville for the holidays!

If you have not already visited the impressive Ledger Building located in downtown Bentonville, well now you have a reason to do so.  This six-story office space rental agency is the world’s first bikeable building! Yes, bikeable, that means you can pedal your happy self to the top of the building using the exterior switchback ramps that lead to the top.  You can then see some incredible views of Downtown Bentonville.  But you don’t have to ride to the top to see some amazingly creative views.

High School Digital Arts teacher Rae Tedeton and her talented students in the Mural Art Club have created a Winter Wonderland scene that covers the Ledger Building’s ground level.  In early November Katy Putnam, Operations Lead at the Ledger, approached AAA to see if the school had students that would be interested in designing a mural to cover the 48 windows on the first level. In less than a week Tedeton’s class not only had concepts sketched for a Winter design, they created a fun Thanksgiving turkey to test their talents before taking on the job!

Students have worked evenings and weekends to finish the mural, and this past Sunday the Mural Club Allstars completed their objective.

Do you like the images in this post?  Well, meet Taylor Lenon who is not only an accomplished photographer he is AAA’s 6th grade math teacher! Taylor visited the Ledger building to capture the students at work on the mural and created a video!  SO MUCH TALENT @ AAA!

The mural will be up through the holidays so make plans to see it in person.  Thank you Katy Putnam and the wonderful staff at the Ledger Building!
