Ceramics Art Takes a Trip

The Ozark Folk Center in Mountain View, AR is holding a Wood-firing on November 10th-14th. What is a Wood-firing? Wood firing is a type of ceramic firing where the fuel source is wood. The ash and flames create special effects and varied marks on the pottery itself.  Mr. Leffingwell, HS ceramics teacher, would like for this to be a part of his class, but with Covid restrictions the students will not be able to make the trip. But never fear! The students' art pieces still get to make the trip and be put  in the kiln in Mountain View. Wish these pots and vases a safe voyage and we look forward to seeing how they change after the wood-firing.
