Senior Spotlight -- Libby Hooker

Libby's Accomplishments: "Graduating from high school when her home state said she would not be able to. This year alone she attended culinary and dance classes. She won a special judges award at Dance Teachers United competition in Vicksburg, MS in Nov. for her solo "Consequences." During Jr. and Sr. years she worked at the food pantry on Saturday mornings. Throughout high school she studied dance and competed throughout the U.S. She was a member of an award winning competitive dance team and was awarded a crown at Dancers, Inc. While dancing in the Arkansas area she placed in the top levels as not only a soloist, but she and her partner won first at nationals. During her sophomore, jr. and senior years she volunteered and helped with Children's Church. She has grown into a caring and compassionate young lady. I cannot wait to see where her dreams take her next!! I know she will be successful! Libby you are proof that love can conquer all and are a shinning example for all born with special needs. We love you and are proud of you."

Scholarships and Awards: Dance scholarship from New York City Dance Alliance during Freshman year of high school. Honor roll during Sophomore year in high school.  The Principal's Persistence Award for never giving up or giving in.

What Libby and her family will miss most about AAA: "I will miss the teachers, staff and faculty. Everyone made Libby feel accepted and loved. You were there for every high and low. Your compassion and love when she lost her grandfather was a blessing. The program you have for students like Libby is the reason we stayed in Arkansas. This is Libby's greatest accomplishment thus far and she could not have done it without you. Thank you for the blessings you bestowed upon our family and for loving Libby, the person she is and the potential you see in her. May God bless each and every one of you, current and past teachers, faculty and staff."
