Log Cabin Christmas at the Shiloh Museum

Arkansas Arts Academy 4th grade class visited the Shiloh Museum of Ozark History to celebrate the holiday season at the Log Cabin Christmas school program.  Museum educators hosted three stations where students learned what life was like during the 1800’s during the winter holiday season.  Students played with Ozark folk toys that would have been made by hand during the pioneer era, viewed holiday scenes from an early projector called a magic lantern, and listened to the story Twas the Night Before Christmas in a log cabin, complete with cookies made in a Dutch oven over an open fire.
