K-6 families,
These precious masks were found on campus. Please email Nurse Katie at kmilligan@artsk12.org and I will return them to their owner.
Thanks!

Mrs. Wright's community service and leadership students earned service hours by planting fall crops and flowers in the school garden. Do you have a service opportunity for us? Email hwright@artsk12.org, if so.

AAA families,
I've reached out to the Arkansas Department of Health about our annual flu shot clinic. I've not heard back about confirming a date and time for the flu clinic. With COVID-19 around during the upcoming flu season, I didn't want our families to wait for our flu clinic if it won't happen. Please reach out to your family's primary care provider(s) if you plan on receiving the flu shot this year.
Stay healthy!
Nurse Katie

Celebrate the Arts Message from PTG:
This year is the school’s 10th anniversary. The PTG chose a special theme for Celebrate the Arts to mark the event, A Night at the Masquerade. When the Coronavirus hit our shores, we knew it was just a matter of time until Arkansas would be affected. Over the past two weeks, things have happened at a fast pace, the updates happening almost hourly. CTA has been the topic of conversation for the PTG for the past several days. What are our options, can we cancel, do we postpone, what about donation items and our sponsors? We are still working hard to get answers. We had a face-to-face meeting scheduled, but with the events of the last 48 hours, we decided it was safest for everyone to try to resolve this over the phone if possible.
The venue is facing a difficult situation, too. All their scheduled events are asking for refunds. We are a small nonprofit and we’re hoping that will work in our favor. I have spoken with an attorney and asked about our legal options, Amber has reached out to our accountant. With the latest update of schools being closed for an additional 3 weeks, moving forward will be a slow process.
We ask for your patience. A great deal of time has been spent working on this and we do not want to give wrong information. We will keep you updated as we find things out.
ONLINE AUCTION
We are planning to hold an online auction for all the items that have been donated, the money will still go to the school. There are some fantastic items, things that will appeal to a wide range of tastes. If you would like to help organize this event, we would love your assistance. A date will not be decided upon until we have had a chance to speak with Mrs. Wright and Mrs. Carpenter.
We know this is frustrating. We will do our best to have this resolved soon. If you have any questions, please email the PTG at ptg.aaa.hs@gmail.com
Sincerely,
Jennette Southworth, Amber Pashby, Kim Cameron

Good Morning! We have several students that don't qualify for the free/reduced cost lunch program, but still struggle to pay for their lunch. If you would like to donate to help support these students, please contact Debbie Zupan @dzupan@artsk12.org or (479) 878-2787

Due to the ongoing effects of the weather earlier this week, we are CANCELING the AAA Night @ the Museum event scheduled for Thursday, October 24. These effects and closures have not allowed our amazing students and teachers the class time needed to prepare for their presentations. We will not reschedule but look forward to the spring event on Thursday, March 5, 2020. Thank you for your understanding and your continued support, The Arts Integration Team

AAA will not have school tomorrow, 10/23 on either campus. Our latest update from Swepco is that power will be restored by 7 pm tomorrow evening. Our district communication server is located on the K-6 campus. Without it we have no internet and no phones.

It is with careful consideration that the PTA and school administrators are postponing the Fall Carnival and Red Ribbon Week until the week of November 4th-8th(Fall Carnival will be Friday, November 8th). We know everyone has put a great deal of work into these events, but with the state of our surrounding neighborhood we are trying to be kind, considerate, and loving to our neighbors and the damages they have to deal with. Parking would be impossible with the amount of debris that is still in the area. That being said, we are looking into how to help the neighbors with cleanup of debris and will keep everyone updated. Please check our school and PTA Facebook pages often for updates.

Arkansas Arts Academy will not be in session tomorrow, October 22nd. Power is still out on K6 campus. Students will have assignments posted in Google Classroom or emailed to them directly. If school resumes on Wednesday, it will be a B day.

We are needing someone to cut up a large walnut tree that fell on the K-6 playground. Contact myoung@artsk12.org if you can help.

AAA will not have school today due to power lines and power outages. Students who rode the bus are at the 7-12 campus and need to be picked up.

We will have a delayed start at 9 due to down power lines and lack of power. We will update you all again at 8.

AAA schools will open at 9 AM today due to power outages and down power lines. We will update you all again at 8 AM.

Mark your calendars for AAA Night @ the Museum on Thursday, October 24th from 6-8 p.m. at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art.
