Start saving your dollars now for the great ONSC Smencil Sale starting next Monday morning at 7:15 in the gym. Each Smencil costs $1.00. The sale will last until we run out so don't wait until Friday to get these fun writing tools.
Thanks for Coming to Subway
We want to thank all of our families for coming out to Subway last Thursday night. The manager told us that we had the biggest spirit night to date. Our PTA made over $500 to help our school by you all enjoying great food.
Spaghetti Dinner Thanks
Thank you to Olive Garden, Tusk & Trotter, and Bocca for the donations of amazing food! Also, we want to thank all the parents who volunteered their time to make this event possible. This fundraiser was held to help our 4th Grade Space Camp trip.

Spring Picture Day is this Friday, March 15
On Friday, we look forward to seeing everyone dressed for their Spring pictures. On this day, we will be having individual and class pictures.
7-12 Campus Ribbon Cutting on March 14
Make plans to come tour the fully finished 7-12 campus this Thursday from 5-8 PM. The ribbon cutting will be part of the Downtown Rogers Art on the Bricks event. The formal part of the event will be at 5:30. If you have not got to see this campus, join us this Thursday and be prepared to be amazed!
Congrats to the Dancers!
Many of our 5th/6th grade dance students performed on Saturday as part of the American Academy of Ballet Performance Awards. We celebrate these young people on their great work and dedication.
Informational Meeting on Washington DC Trip for 4th-6th Graders
Mrs. Benton and Mrs. Rozzana are planning a trip next October break to Washington DC. They will be hosting an informational meeting on March 12th from 5-6 PM in Mrs. Benton’s room to discuss this exciting opportunity.

iPhones and the Yearbook
IOS (Apple’s operating system) has recently made a change so that the default setting for photos is a filled .heic but this is causing problems with some software including that used for our yearbook. If you have an iPhone and have photos to share for the yearbook, please do the following steps:
Go to settings and select camera.
Then select Formats.
Finally, select most compatible.
How to Run for School Board
Arkansas Arts Academy has 7 Board Members. They meet each month of the year on the 2ndTuesday of the month. This year there are two Board Members up for reelection – Joe DeRouen and Alicia Knotts. The election will be held on Tuesday, April 30, 2019. If you decide to run, you must include which candidate to compete against. The function of the Arkansas Arts Academy Board of Education is to establish policies that guide the operation of the school in areas such as instruction, personnel, facilities, management and community relations. As a Board of Education member you effectively agree to attend regular monthly and special board meetings, to review the board packet in advance of meetings, and to keep informed about the issues on which you make decisions. Annual school board training is required. A Board of Education member cannot be an employee of Arkansas Arts Academy or have a personal financial interest in the school. A member must currently have a child attending Arkansas Arts Academy or a child that graduated from the school. Please apply by clicking on the link below and filling out the form. All applicants are due by April 2nd and following the April Board meeting on April 19th we will have a panel with all applicants.
