Tonight Peel Mansion and Heritage Gardens hosted Bentonville's inaugural El Dia de los Muertos festival. Founder of the event Lourdes Valverde organized an authentic Mexican celebration complete with an altar for for the public to honor loved ones that have passed. Students in Mrs. Iglesias Spanish classes contributed to the festival by creating a mural size Catrina. Mrs. Karen Castelman's dance company Equilibrium performed a thrilling version of Dance Macabre for guests in a gallery filled with art submitted by the community. The event continues tomorrow from 10 am to 4 pm at Peel Mansion and Heritage Gardens and the Museum of Native American History in Bentonville.
