7/2/2021

Good morning parents and students of Arkansas Arts Academy! I hope you are enjoying your summer and finding ways to relax. We are greatly looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year and hope that you are as well.

Schedules
Preliminary schedules have been run. These will be checked in the next two weeks for accuracy and to ensure that students were scheduled for the classes they need as well as the classes they want. Printable and finalized schedules will be available for pick up on July 16th. If you still believe changes are necessary, you may complete a schedule change request form. These forms will be available on July 19th.

Parking
We will be moving student parking to the lot on the corner of Cherry Street and 5th Street. There are more spaces in that lot and students will be able to leave at the end of the day without worrying about interfering with the pick up line. We will not be assigning specific spaces. Students who drive to campus are required to purchase a $5 parking sticker. Any student with a sticker can park in the parking lot as long as spaces are available. Once the lot is full, students may park in public parking in Downtown Rogers. Students parking in the lot on Cherry Street will be able to enter the building from 5th Street rather than walking around to the main entrance. After parking, students will cross Cherry St., then cross 5th St. at the cross walk, and walk along the sidewalk by the Bus Loading Zone to enter the building at the secondary entrance. Please use this link to view parking and carline maps: AAA HS Maps. Parking stickers will be available for purchase through MyPaymentsPlus beginning July 16th and students can pick up their parking sticker at Open House on August 3rd.

Bus Transportation
We have limited space available for bus transportation. If you are interested in bus service, please contact Rachel Carpenter at rcarpenter@artsk12.org.

Chromebook Lockers and Cell Phone Policy
Each student will be assigned a Chromebook locker that they will share with one other student for the 2021-2022 school year. These lockers charge Chromebooks overnight when they do not need to be taken home so that students can start each day with a fully charged Chromebook. They can also charge cell-phones and other devices during the school day when they should not be in use. Students will be instructed that their cell phones should either be off and in their backpacks or locked safely in their Chromebook locker during the school day. Cell phones used during instructional time will be confiscated and placed in their Chromebook locker. Students that repeatedly have cell phones out during class will face disciplinary action.

Masks
Students will not be required to wear masks during the school day. Any student that desires to wear a mask will be allowed to do so and students who have not been vaccinated will be encouraged to do so. Individuals visiting the campus for meetings or tours may ask the adults they are meeting with to wear a mask.

Handbook Committee
It is once again time to review our student handbook and make any necessary revisions for the coming school year. The committee will be made up of parents, students, and school staff. If you would like to serve on the Handbook Committee for this school year, please contact Heather Davis at hdavis@artsk12.org.

Mrs. Davis's Availability
Mrs. Davis will be on vacation from July 5th through July 15th. The office will still be open from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm in her absence. Appointments can be made with Mrs. Davis using the following link: https://calendly.com/hdavis-aaa/15min
