Dear families,

We currently have the privilege to allow foreign exchange students to attend Arkansas Arts Academy this school year. We were asked to share the following information from a foreign exchange student organization as they search for placement for students.

From CETUSA:

We are in need of several volunteer families to provide room and board for these students for the school year. Worried about COVID? These students will have to have a "Fit To Fly" document signed by their physician just hours prior to their departure. Once here, at your request, the student can undergo testing and quarantine. The student cannot attend school by 100% virtual learning.

What does the family provide?
-A separate bed for the student, but they can share a room with another teen of the same gender.
-Three daily meals
-Acceptance in your family, as a family member
-Some parental guidance

What is the student responsible for?
-Must maintain a C average
-Must speak English
-Provides monetary means for clothing, toiletries, educational fees, recreational and extracurricular activities
-Provides their own medical insurance

For more information, visit the website at www.cetusa.org or call Lisa at (870) 917-4062.

I will do all i can do make that happen with my new special family. i'm a very smiling and curious boy who want to learn a lot about everything . I'm motivated for 2 years to go to this trip. I'm not shy at all i like to meet and learn more about the people around me and their passions. If you choose me, you will have a new teen in your family who will be happy to learn more about you and share his culture with you. "

CAMILA, 17, Italy
"Hello! I will be 17 years old, I have had 10 years of English, and I have an A grade average. I scored an 8 out of 10 on my English Oral Interview, and I scored a 250 on my ELTiS test. I am willing to attend any religion with you on holidays. I enjoy reading, writing, cheerleading, and popular music. I really love singing and playing the guitar. I like writing songs and I spend a lot of time doing that. One of my biggest dream is to become a singer and to work in the music industry. I want to do this because music makes me really happy and it helps me during bad times. I also would like to be an actress even though I have never taken an acting class, but I like the idea of playing a character that is completely different than me. I want to study abroad because I want to learn about a culture that is different than mine, and I think that the only way to do that is to live in the country with the culture that I want to know about and do all the things that will allow me to understand that culture as much as possible, such as living with a Host Family, going to high school, making new friends, knowing new people. I am interested in playing the guitar, singing, writing songs and volunteering to entertain younger children."

ANDRE, 17, Italy
"Hello! I will be 17 years old, I have had 11 years of English, and I have an A- grade average. I scored a perfect 10 out of 10 on my English Oral Interview, and I scored a 232 on my ELTiS test. I am willing to attend any religion with you monthly. I enjoy handball, computers, soccer, jogging and running, swimming, movies, cross country sports, and popular music. We have a dog at home as a pet. My dream is to live the best life I possibly can. I want to travel around the world and meet many new people. Making profit investing in real estate is something that interests that I want to be successful in. I am very interested in learning and experiencing new things. I always work hard no matter what I am doing. I have been through a lot of tough things which has made me mature and responsible. Losing my mother at a young age (11) has also made me a caring person. I always make sure everyone around me is all right. I am a positive, hardworking and enthusiastic person interested in sports, in outdoor activities and in life in general. I am easy to be around; I love my family, my life and believe this brings positivity to the people around me. I am seen by others as a positive, polite and one that interacts in a positive way – I hope my host family will see and find those qualities in me. "
