Weekly Newsletter 5/18/2020

Good afternoon!

We have reached the last few weeks of school!  We have 18 school days remaining after today.

Thank you to everyone who has completed their course requests.  We are building the master schedule in eschool this week and will begin building student schedules as soon as it is finalized.  If you haven't yet completed your requests, please do so as soon as possible.  The course request system will be locked on Thursday, May 21st.

Students and parents may begin returning Chromebooks and school supplies on Monday, June 8th.  We ask that all school property be returned no later than Friday, June 19th so that we can disinfect and restore those items.  The office will be open everyday from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm during the return window (June 8th-June 19th).  Parents can simply drive up to the main entrance, honk, and someone will come out to retrieve school items.  If you need a window outside of that time, please let me know and we will work with you.

Teachers will be sending a preliminary 4th quarter grade this week.  Remember that your grade from 3rd quarter cannot go any lower, but you can raise it through participation in your AMI lessons.  Students who have not participated at all will be given an I for the semester and a summer learning packet will be sent home in order to regain credit.  Students can still submit late work through June 12th.  If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me.

Our Parent-Teacher Guild is currently conducting their online auction to help raise funds to support our teachers.  Please click on the link and help fund teacher requests for the 2020-2021 school year: https://www.biddingowl.com/Auction/home.cfm?auctionID=16182&CFID=11216870&CFTOKEN=9dec4bddbe0b1132-8F66F97C-F3A0-879D-855B716E769E6014  PTG is also currently accepting nominations for leadership positions.  If you are interested or would like to nominate someone else, please send your nominations to ptg.aaa.hs@gmail.com

Thank you to everyone who has demonstrated your passion for and desire to be more involved in our school over the past week.  I am excited to see what we can all accomplish together next year to make sure that all students and programs are supported and all accomplishments are celebrated.  If you have an idea for increasing parent involvement or a suggestion for school improvement in general, please feel free to send it to me.

I hope you all have a wonderful week and an enjoyable Memorial Day Weekend! Thank you for choosing Arkansas Arts Academy.

Best wishes,

Heather Wright
