Weekly 7-12 Newsletter 4/17/2020

Good morning!

I hope that everyone is still safe and well in our extended isolation mode.  I know that I am feeling more stir crazy as we surpass the one month point.  Please remember to reach out to each other and maintain social connections as we remain physically distant.

The school board approved a minor change to this year's school calendar by substituting the four days following Memorial Day in May for the last four days of school previously scheduled (June 15-18).  This means that the last day of school will occur on June 12th.  All 7th-11th grade students should continue to engage with remote learning content until that date. Please contact me if you have any concerns about the change or your student's participation.

The school board also approved the course catalog for 2020-2021.  The updated catalog contains descriptions for all of the courses we would like to offer next school year.  It can be found here.  Please note that any course with less than 8 students will not be offered.  More information on completing course requests will be available April 27th including video tutorials on how to complete the process in the eSchool Home Access Center.

I resent links for the free ACT practice site that our students have been registered for.  The links expire after three days, so please have your student complete the registration process using the link quickly.  If you have a 7th or 8th grade student who would like to try the ACT practice as well, please contact me with the student name and I will get them registered as well.

Student clubs and organizations that would like to have virtual meetings can contact Mrs. Carpenter or myself to set up virtual meeting times.  Once established, invitations to secure zoom sessions will be sent to all club members.

You still have time to order a 2019-2020 high school yearbook!  Just go to https://yearbookforever.com to order online.  Yearbooks will be delivered this year and once they are in, we will contact families about pick up.

Finally, I have created a second feedback survey for parents and students so that we can continue to monitor and adjust our remote learning expectations.  Please complete the End of Week Three survey and let us know how we can best support you!  If you would like to schedule a brief appointment with me to discuss your student or to chat with another adult, please use this link to do so!

I miss everyone! Take care and be safe.
