Dear Arkansas Arts Academy K-6 Families,

We hope you have enjoyed your two weeks off.  As you know, all Arkansas schools are closed due to the Covid19 virus.  We are prepared to roll out quality instruction via Alternate Methods of Instruction.  This will allow teaching and learning to continue while campus is closed.

Grades 3-6

During AMI days, your child’s teachers will be available during regular school hours to provide support, feedback and any assistance your child may need to successfully complete AMI assignments.  Students may contact their teachers during regular school hours using the teachers’ school email accounts or Google classroom. Daily assignments will be communicated by each teacher and work should be completed and returned daily to receive feedback from teachers.  If you do not have internet access, we are happy to mail you a packet. Please reach out to us to let us know. We will also be offering chromebooks to students that indicated they do not have access to a device. Parents will be responsible for damage or loss of devices.  Insurance will be available. That information will be posted on our school website along with designated pick up times.

Grades K-2

Your packets will be mailed out at the end of this week if you do not have internet access or a printer.  You will not need a chromebook to complete assignments. Teachers are still available to assist you. They will also be checking in with you.  Some K-2 teachers will likely offer online support such as Google Hangouts or Zooms but these are optional.

We are thankful that the Governor has allowed AMI days so that these missed days do not have to be made up after the virus.

Though we may have to do school differently, we believe that the lessons your child will complete serve as instructional tools to help him or her continue the path toward a bright future!

Please reach out if you have any questions or concerns.  This is new territory for us all so please be patient with us as we take this adventure together.
