Arts Academy Families and Students,
We wanted to make you aware of the following opportunities for our Arts Academy students this Spring.
6th-8th Grade Students Soccer: We will have teams in both the girls and boys division of school soccer through the Rogers Activity Center. The amount of players will determine if we play varsity, junior varsity, or both. Students are allowed to play on this team and on their club team. This program will be helping us develop our new HS soccer program. Registration fees range from $80-$135 depending on membership status with the Rogers Activity Center. Fees need to be paid to the Rogers Activity Center at their location. The girls' coach, Coach Harding, can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org. The boys' coach, Coach Kennedy, can be reached at email@example.com. The deadline to sign up for these teams is Jan. 31.
9th-12th Grade Students Soccer: We will be having girls and boys high school competitive soccer this year through the Arkansas Activities Association. Students must have had at least a 2.0 GPA last semester and maintain this during this semester to play. These teams will be traveling to other schools and hosting other schools in games. The boys team will begin workouts next Monday. The girls team will begin workouts soon. Season for these teams begins in March and ends at the beginning of May. Activity fee for this sport will be $100 and the check should be made out to AAA Foundation. Students must have an athletic physical to participate and they must have been done within the last year. 7th-12th Grade Students Track: After multiple requests from our students, we are excited to offer you all the opportunity to participate in competitive track this year. Students must have had at least a 2.0 GPA last semester and maintain this during this semester to play. This group will be traveling to other schools for meets. Team practice will be twice a week before school and Coach Heffernan will advise the athlete on their personal workout plan to completed on their own. Season for these teams begins at the end of February and ends at the beginning of May. Activity fee for this sport will be $50 and the check should be made out to AAA Foundation. Students must have an athletic physical to participate and they must have been done within the last year. Interested students need to email Coach Heffernan firstname.lastname@example.org by Jan 31 with their name, grade, and birthday to sign up.
9th-12th Grade E-Sports: We are excited to offer our 9th-12th grade students the opportunity to play competitive e-sports this semester. The following games are available for students to compete against other schools: Smite, League of Legends, and Rocket League. Students would have League of Legends competitions on Tuesday after school while Smite/Rocket League would be Thursday after school. Competitions will take place virtually from our 7-12 computer lab. The activity fee for this sport has not been determined at this time. Interested students need to email Coach Farmer email@example.com to get signed up by Jan. 31. Students must have a 2.0 GPA to participate.
Student/Athlete Physicals: If you are going to participate in 9th-12th grade soccer or 7th-12th grade track, you must have a current athletic physical. Athletic physicals are good for one year from the date of the physical. We will be offering free athletic physicals on Monday Jan. 27 from 11-1 at the 7-12 campus. Students must have a completed health history form signed by their parents to get this physical. The form is located under documents on the website or can be accessed by clicking here. Only the history form must be completed by the parent. Completed history forms can be emailed to Nurse Morgan at firstname.lastname@example.org.
