Good afternoon Parents and Students!

I hope that your summer has been relaxing and that everyone is looking forward to coming back to school in four short weeks. :)  I am definitely looking forward to having hallways full of students and teachers.

I have gotten several inquiries regarding school supplies for 7-12 students.  Teachers will have lists of individual supplies needed for classrooms at our open house on August 1st.  A supply list for individual classes will also be posted on our website by July 31st.  The following are supplies that every student will need on the first day of school:

  • Number two pencils
  • Blue or black ink pens
  • College ruled notebook paper
  • A backpack capable of holding two 1.5" binders, a chromebook, and a textbook
  • A clear, sealable water bottle
  • At least one box of tissues
  • At least one canister or disinfecting wipes

The tissues and disinfecting wipes can be dropped off in the main office during open house or anytime during the first week of school.  For your convenience, the annual tax free weekend is August 3-4.

Our Open House and Community Fair will kick off the school year on August 1st from 6-8 pm.  We have asked several community organizations to join us so that our families can have easy access to the resources available.  We'll start the evening with a welcome in the Performing Arts Center at 6:15 pm.  At 6:30 pm parents and students will be released to tour the building with peer ambassadors, set up lunch accounts, pick up copies of schedules, meet teachers, learn how to login to the Home Access Center, sign up for the Parent Teacher Guild, and a myriad of other opportunities to get involved and build connections.  We hope that you all join us!

9-12 grade schedules have been corrected and you will be able to sign into HAC to see your 2019-2020 schedules on July 10th.  7th and 8th grade schedules should also be available in HAC on the 10th.  If you have forgotten your HAC password or have never logged in, you will receive an email with that information on the 15th.  If you would like help logging in and learning how to use the Home Access Center you can come to the Open House or schedule an appointment with me.  We will also be scheduling several parent nights to help parents use all of our technology to help support their students.  If you are new to Arkansas Arts Academy, your schedules will be fully entered by July 23rd.  If there is an issue with a schedule, you may email Mrs. Wright or schedule an appointment with her.

I hope you enjoy the rest of your summer!  Remember to read lots of books!  If you have any questions, please email me or call for an appointment.
