9th grade pre-AP physical science students presented social impact projects that they designed over the last two months. Students based their projects on a need they saw in our community that they were passionate about. The purpose of the project is to empower students to lead by making a social impact while applying math and science skills learned in the classroom to real-world problem solving. Students were required to incorporate two Algebra I concepts and one physical science concept into their project to show how math and science are used in everyday life. Twenty students were involved, seven community groups were impacted, $2300 in funds were raised, 70 pounds of paper were kept out of the landfill, and 25 hours of community service were completed!
