This week visual art students from Mrs. McWilliams’ class experience the opportunity to work with an internationally recognized artist on a 50-foot mural! London-based artist Rich Simmons is creating an original mural on the old Ice House building in downtown Rogers.  Simmons is one of the artists whose work is featured in the current exhibition, Men of Steel, Women of Wonder at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. Simmons’ style draws directly on Pop artists such as Andy Warhol. His mural, standing over 50 feet tall, will be the largest work he has ever completed, paying homage to Leonardo Da Vinci on his 500th birthday while combining the aesthetic of Roy Lichtenstein.

Come celebrate this monumental work of art with our students this Friday between 4:30-6:30 pm or visit the mural this Saturday April 13th from 3:00-3:30 pm and meet the artist and learn more about his process, his passion for art. Both events are free and open to the public. Mural Location: 500 S. Arkansas St., Rogers AR 72756
